Morning Announcements for Monday, April 29th

The boys track team placed 8th at the Margaretta Invite Friday night scoring 51 points. Leading the charge were Trayvon Williams placing 1st in long jump and 2nd in the 100 meter dash and Jace Jeremay placed 2nd in pole vault with a new PR of 12' 6". The 4x8 team of Chase King, Jacoby Valimont, Everett Gfell, and Jackson Michaelis placing 4th, Colin Butler placing 6th in the 110 hurdles. Jackson Michaelis placed 4th in the 800, Quentin Cox placed 6th in the 2 mile and the 4x4 team of Everett Gfell, Chase King, Jacoby Valimont, and Jackson Michaelis placed 8th. J Williams placed 6th in shotput and 5th in discus as well as Jack Woodward placing 8th in discus. Great Job guys! The team will compete tonight in the Erie County Invitational at Perkins.

On Saturday the tennis team participated in the SBC Tournament. Parker Campbell finished 5th, Aidin Colbert 2nd and second team all conference, Noah Proctor 3rd and Honorable Mention all conference, Liz Cambell/Andrew Gray finished 7th at first doubles and Jonah Main/Sam McClester finished 2nd and second team all conference at second doubles. Nice job team on a great day of tennis!!  

The varsity baseball team beat Tiffin Columbian 7-3.  Carson Smith pitched five and two-thirds strong innings with 9 strikeouts to pick up the win.  Davin Wendt had 2 hits, including a double, and 3 RBI's.  James Bickley had 3 hits and scored 2 runs.  Cole Leimeister and Carson Smith each hit doubles.

The JV baseball team beat the Tornadoes 11-1 in 5 innings.  Eli Hermes pitched a complete game 3 hitter with 7 strikeouts.  Cayden Clere doubled.  Chaz Smith, Aaron Febbo, and Eli Hermes each hit singles, and Hermes had 4 RBIs.

Petitions are now available in the high school office for students wishing to run for a class office position or student council.

The deadline to purchase a senior ad for the yearbook has been extended to May 3rd.  Please consider purchasing one.  See Mrs. Roan or a member of the yearbook staff with any questions!

The Melon Festival Queens contest is for high school girls entering their junior or senior year at Edison High School.  It is a scholarship program where the Queen and her court get the opportunity to travel around Ohio and represent our town and the Melon Festival!  Any future junior or senior girl who is interested in running please contact Mandi Richards, Queen coordinator at 419-602-3245

The Glenna Goretzki Art Foundation is hosting an art and car show on July 6th.  Edison students have been invited to share their art and enter a judging contest.  Please contact Mrs. Roan for more information!

For anyone interested in the CBI program for next year, please come to the meeting during the Charger Period this week in room 303.
