Morning Announcements - Friday, May 1, 2026

The EMS cafeteria will be serving Domino’s Cheese of Pepperoni Pizza, or Daily Grab & Go, fresh veggie mix with ranch, Miss Teresa’s Birthday Treat, fruit choice and milk for lunch today.

Attention 6th–8th graders! The deadline to register for the Middle School Choir Workshop is today, Friday, May 1. Check your email to sign up using the link sent in Final Forms. Questions? Contact Mrs. Wheeler at the high school.

The middle school choir will rehearse today from 3-4 pm. Please make sure that you are picked up on time.  The choir concert is Sunday at 4:30, students arrive by 4 in the high school band room. 

Attention all Student Council Reps: The meeting on Monday, May 4 at 7:10 am. will be for all of the student council representatives. We need to work out the details for our Pizza Party.

The junior high track teams hosted Vermilion on a rainy Wednesday to take on the Sailors, and both teams came away with impressive victories. The girls defeated Vermilion 78–45, while the boys earned a dominant win: 98.5–29.5. Leading the way for the Chargers, Saxon O’Neal had a standout day, taking 1st place in both the 100 hurdles and 200 hurdles. Addison McDonnell won the 1600, while Jillian Chase placed 1st in the 800. Reese Wells added a victory in the high jump and also placed 2nd in the 400. In the distance events, Madison Moon and Penny Stoll placed 2nd and 3rd in the 1600, while Stoll also took 2nd in the 800. Camilla Daniel added a 2nd place finish in the 100 hurdles. The girls 4x800 relay team of McDonnell, Moon, Stoll, and Chase also took 1st place. On the boys side, Liam Butler had a strong performance, winning both the 110 hurdles and 200 hurdles. Zeke Rutger was a double winner, taking 1st in both the 1600 and 800. Max Baker finished 1st in the 400 and also won the high jump. The boys relays were outstanding, sweeping victories in the 4x800, 4x200, 4x100, and 4x400. In the field events, Sophia Klima and August Hines placed 1st and 2nd in the girls shot put, while Parker Tutlow and Greysen Yamanouchi did the same for the boys. Delaney Marshall took 1st in the girls discus, with Klima adding a 3rd place finish.

On the boys side, Jonathan Senko placed 2nd in discus and won the pole vault, followed by Dylan Gale in 2nd. Coltin Hohler had a strong day, finishing 2nd in the 100 and 200 while also winning the long jump. Great way to end the regular season. 

Today is Monday, May 1 which means it is the first day for the 7th grade calendar raffle. Each day in May, not one but two, prize packages will be drawn from the calendars sold by 7th graders to raise money for their trip to Washington, D.C. in the fall.
Today’s May 1 package A is a Zest For Life Basket donated by The Caring Collective. The winner is JAMIE KOWALSKI. This ticket was sold by EMMA KOWALSKI.
Today's May 1 package B is a Keep Growing Gift Basket donated by The Caring Collective. The winner of this prize is KELLY SOMMERS and the ticket was sold by ALAINA NICKLES.
We will also announce tomorrow’s winners. Saturday’s May 2 Package A is a $50 J Bistro restaurant certificate The winner of this prize is ALYSA DUBLO and the ticket was sold by LOGAN SHARP.
Saturday’s May 2 Package B is a $50 Berardi’s Family gift Card. The winner of this prize is CHANDRA BARNES and the ticket was sold by BLAKE MCKINNON.

The trivia answer is that the name of Domino’s mascot is the Noid.
