The varsity volleyball team improved to 6-8 by beating Ontario 25-20, 25-23, 22-25, 25-18. Peyton Werner led the team with 13 kills. Peyton Bissell had 34 assists and 11 points. Reese Wells had a double-double with 11 kills and 13 digs, and Abby Cloud served 15 points with 6 aces. The JV volleyball team beat Ontario 22-25, 25-13, 25-16. Kira Quillen served 13 points and Ava Stewart had 6 points.
The Edison Lady Chargers battled Galion to a 2-2 draw Monday night, moving their season record to 4-3-1. Edison struck first just five minutes into the match when Ella Rogers found the back of the net on a direct free kick. Galion answered before halftime, sending the teams into the break tied 1-1. Galion took a 2-1 lead just a few minutes into the second half, but once again the Chargers responded. Edison continued to pressure the Galion defense throughout the match and eventually found the equalizer with just eight minutes remaining when Gia Heater buried a rebound following a save by the Galion goalkeeper. The Chargers also turned in a strong defensive performance, with Natalie Mees making eight saves in goal. Edison will return to conference play Wednesday, Sept. 23, when the Chargers host Clyde at 7 p.m. at Freedom Field.
The boys varsity soccer team picked up a big win over the weekend, defeating Ashland Crestview 5-3. Valo Lewis and Gavyn Blackburn lead the Chargers with two goals each. Carter Jones added to the score sheet with one. The boys are 5-1-2 on the season and return to action on Wednesday at home vs. Clyde.
This Friday we will have a two-hour delay! There will be a coffee truck in the parking lot from 7 am to 10 am! Grab a drink and support Student Council! All students must be in their first period on time!
