Morning Announcements for Thursday, October 15th

Congratulations to Gianna Brooks, Lilly Davis, and Kase Proctor on being accepted into the District 2 Honors Choir! Following an audition process, these students were selected to join singers from the 21 participating schools. This achievement reflects their talent, hard work, and dedication to music. We are so proud of you! Please join us in congratulating Gianna, Lilly, and Kase on this exciting honor!

The Edison Lady Chargers fell 3-1 to Huron Wednesday evening in their regular-season finale, but delivered a strong effort that kept the match competitive until the final whistle. Huron held a 1-0 lead at halftime before Edison responded in the second half. Juliana Johnson brought the Chargers level at 1-1 with 28 minutes remaining, finishing an assist from Kailyn Dickman. Edison increased the pressure on Huron’s defense throughout the second half, building on a strong defensive performance in the opening half. Peyton Warner made eight saves in goal to help keep the Chargers in the match. Ultimately, Huron capitalized on one or two Edison mistakes to secure the victory. Despite the result, the Chargers showed determination and continued to compete until the end. Edison will look to build on that effort as the team turns its attention to tournament play, traveling to face Woodmore on Wednesday, October 21, at 5 p.m.

The Boys varsity soccer team capped off their last regular season home game with a 4-1 win over Huron! Goals were scored by Max Welch, Gannon Chartrant, Valo Lewis, and Carter Jones. The boys return to action this Saturday when they travel to Genoa for their last regular-season game.

Interested in experiencing Germany and Central Europe with Ms. Lapchynski and Mrs. Traut? Your peers? There is an informational parent meeting on October 26th in the Innovation room. The meeting starts promptly at 6:30 and will be approximately an hour. We are going to explore Prague, Munich, and Krakow! This trip will also take students to Auschwitz-Birkenau, which is obviously heavy-hearted. Mature students are warmly invited to attend this once-in-a-lifetime excursion across Central Europe. It is recommended, but not mandatory, that students take Holocaust Literature & Exploration prior to this tour.  See Ms. Lapchynski with any questions. Stop by her room (303) for a flyer.

Join us in dressing up for Halloween on Thursday, October 29th! All costumes must be school-appropriate! Hats, masks, and face paint are not permitted. We can't wait to see everyone dressed up!

Just a friendly reminder to sign up for Charger Period meetings! There are a lot of great opportunities to speak to different colleges and careers!
