Morning Announcements for Friday, October 23rd

Good Morning Everyone!
Today is Friday, October 23, 2026.

The lunch menu for today is a personal pan pizza, or Daily Grab & Go, carrot coins, sugar cookie, fruit choice and milk.

The weather report for today is partly cloudy with a high of 65.

Today’s trivia question is: What is the deadliest spider in the world?

Attention 7th and 8th graders:
There is still room on the Edison Middle School Speech and Debate team in public forum debate and in declamation performance.
If you would like to compete with the team, please see Mr. Amstutz after school on Tuesday in the library to pick up speeches. Why not give it a try.

Reminder that girls 4th through 6th grade YOUTH basketball sign-ups are still open.
Registration will close in less than 2 weeks and EYS is seeking girls who want to play basketball.  Please go to the EYS website, www.edisonyouthsports.org to register.

Today is the last day for any 7th or 8th grade girl who is interested in trying out for basketball and did not attend Wednesday’s meeting to sign up in Miss Blatnik’s classroom.

Monday, October 26 starts the Coin-A-Day Challenge and it is Nickel Day.
The Language Arts Classrooms will have containers for you to make your donation.  All of the donations are used to purchase books for the ELA classrooms. The Language Arts classroom that collects the highest overall total will win a reward.

Miss Bauman has posted The Art Club member’s list outside her room.  Don’t forget to check it out.  The first meeting is Monday, October 26 after school.

The trivia answer is that the deadliest spider in the world is the funnel-web spider.

We would like to close with this quote from Spiderman: “With great power comes greater responsibility.”
