Morning Announcements for Monday, November 2nd

Welcome Back Everyone!
Today is Monday, November 2, 2026.

The lunch menu for today is beef nachos & cheese with salsa, or Daily Grab & Go, refried beans, fruit choice and milk.

The weather report for today is cloudy skies with a high of 64.

Today’s trivia question is: What two pantry items are mostly commonly used to help thicken gravy?

Attention speech and debate club members:
Mr. Amstutz will meet with interpretation entries and Extemporaneous speakers today and with Public Forum debaters’ tomorrow after school in the library.

Congratulations to the Edison Middle School Speech and Debate team which placed 2nd out of 8 middle schools competing schools from three different Regional Districts in northwest and northeast Ohio.

The following students won individual honors:
Natalie Salmons - 1st place in Oral Interpretation
The team of Hiram Schoenherr and Gabe Matter - 2nd place in Public Forum Debate.
Riley Hackney - 2nd place in Extemporaneous Speaking
Elizabeth Wheeler - 3rd in Oral Interpretation
Hanna Tessaro - 7th in Oral Interpretation

There is still room for more speech and debate competitors.
If you are interested in joining the acting and speech portion of the club, see Mr. Amstutz after school either today or next Monday in the library.
If you are interested in competing in congressional or public forum debate, see Mr. Amstutz after school in the library on Tuesday.
Any 6th, 7th or 8th grader can compete so why not get involved.

Congrats to these Charger Pride students for always doing the right thing when no one is looking.
They are 4th grade -- Roman Reinhart & Noah Bowen; 5th grade -- Finnegan Lake & Jace King; 6th grade -- Selah Hindel & Regan Cooper; 7th grade -- Marissa McDonnell & Amelia Swenson; 8th grade -- Tristin Wiliams & Harper Buttermore
After the announcements, those students should report to Mr. Chaffee’s office.

The trivia answer is that cornstarch and flour are two pantry items that help thicken gravy.

We would like to close with this quote from
Writer Margaret Cousins: “Appreciation can make a day, even change a life.”

Thank you for listening and enjoy your day!
