State Finals Congratulations
Congratulations to the State qualifiers who competed at the State Finals Tournament on Saturday at Wooster High School. The team is coached by Mr. Amstutz. There were 441 competitors from all seven Ohio districts competing.
State qualifiers include Austin Warren, Avery Thurston, Madison Moon, Kasen Proctor, Natalie Mees, Harper Salmons, and Natalie Salmons.
Austin Warren advanced to the State Final Round in congressional debate, the first time an Edison Middle School student has ever broken to finals in congressional debate!
Kasen Proctor advanced through preliminary rounds and semifinals, breaking to final round competition in Speech Interpretation and placing 6th overall. He is the first Edison Middle School student to qualify for the National Tournament in Speech. He will compete with students from 17 other countries in June in Iowa.
